This will be short and sweet. My brother Ed and his wife Pat are in town. We'll be doing all the touristy things and eating way more than we should over the next few days. Friday we went to see my cousin  Mike playing at the Rod and Gun, a bar just north of here. I’m always amazed how talented he is. He’s a great guitarist plus his stage presence is great. The guy he was playing with can sound exactly like Rod Stewart when he wants to. They did several of his songs plus Simon and Garfunkel and others from that era. It was a very fun evening with us singing along and generally making nuisance of ourselves.

Then on Saturday we went to a party a friend of mine from work was throwing to celebrate their tenth anniversary of arriving in Canada. We had a fun time but now another family understands the danger of having my brother and I in the same room. The puns were flying fast and thick and we even made a Seven Degrees of Separation connection between Bobby Sherman and Chief Tecumseh. On the up side though, the food was fantastic. Authentic Mexican dishes made in the traditional manner. Today we’re going up to Cathedral Grove to see the huge trees, and then to Coombs to the goats on the roof to do some shopping. It’s been a fun weekend.

Note: Due to a prior commitment we’re probably going to miss next weeks letter. Sorry about that. All I can say is that it’s NOT medical. We’re going to be tied up with something else. If you know what it is then this isn’t a surprise. If you don’t know then, well, you’ll find out next week.
