Ruthie Came to Visit
28/09/08 05:59
Gosh just a few more days of September and then we are into October. I can not believe that summer is gone and fall is here. Doug's Mom, Ruthe came up to visit this week and unfortunately was met with typical Island fall weather as it rained most every day. But she still got a chance to visit with Barbara and Doug. The visit went well and we hope that she comes back soon. She is now spending a few days with Doug's sister Jean in Oregon.
The cats are getting along much better. As you can see from one of the pictures below they are now sleeping together. No more hissing or growling. They have lots of fun chasing each other around. First Geiger chases her and then she turns around and chases him. Sometimes one will stop and will hide, waiting to jump out when the other one realizes he/she is no longer being chased.
Ruthe left on Friday so this weekend we have just taken it easy. On Friday we went to a couple of garage sales in Lantzville and picked up a few items. I picked up a small purse for a $1.00. Doug checked it out when we got home and found $1.25 still in it, so in essence they paid me to take it. Not a bad deal. We also found a small pretty china plate with roses on it. It was much like many other china plates we've seen except for two things; the Royal Stewart pattern name on the back, and the pentagram on the front. It has to be something special but we've not been able to find anything on line about it. If anyone recognizes it let us know.
I also picked up a few strawberry plants and a couple of lupins which I planted today. Hopefully we will have some strawberries next year.

Barbara and Ruthe talking. The hand gestures say it all.
