It was our fault. We should have known better. But Geiger had stayed away and, well, we sort of hoped he would continue avoiding the paint smell.

We were painting picture frames. The frames white and then the inside of the back deep blue. We did a bunch of them and everything went fine. Then yesterday we needed to do two more. The blue backs were painted and set on big pieces of plastic on the kitchen counter.

An hour passed

We went in to see how the paint was drying. The first frame back was fine. The second looked fine also, then we looked closer and noticed two perfect cat footprints in the middle of the blue. At some time Geiger had gotten up and left the room without us noticing. He went into the kitchen and jumped up on the counter, which we've scolded him for doing in the past. Then we noticed that after stepping in the wet paint Geiger walked across every open stretch of counter in the kitchen leaving dozens of blue footprints everywhere. Fortunatly Geiger got all of the paint off of his feet before he jumped down.

Nonetheless Geiger(Mr. Blue Paw) is in the doghouse now.

In other news we've been putting up crown molding in the house, picking blackberries every chance we get. I have this coming week off, and it has gotten cooler and rainier. Perfect to set us up for September. Doug is even making chili and oatmeal cookies today.

Dave, our prior realtor and landlord stopped by this weekend and gave us a box of prawns that he caught.  Barbara has agreed to make them for us later this week so we will be enjoying them soon.

No new pictures this week. We should have taken the paw prints prior to scrubbing them off the counter, but did not.
