Cooking & Pictures

This week was busy.  Besides just the normal day to day stuff, Doug had to work Saturday night until about 3:30 on Sunday morning.  We had dinner at Barbara's on Saturday. Doug went home to get a nap before  heading into work. But Barbara and I went down to the Piper's Lagoon Pub and listened to Mike play.  It was a fun evening for Barbara and I, but not so much for Doug.

This week I decided to make homemade muffins.  I thought I was doing pretty well until I went back to double check that I had put everything in the recipe and I discovered I had been taking bits and pieces from two different recipes.  Luckily it turned out ok. I'm going to try it again this week and just follow one of the recipes.

That reminds me.  A couple of weeks ago I wanted to hard boil some eggs.  Since this is not something I do very often, I decided to check my trusty Betty Crocker Cookbook. Here is some advice I read at the top of th epage.  I hope you will all get a good laugh at the following advice.
"The man you will marry will know the way he likes his eggs. And chances are he'll be fussy about them. So it behooves a good wife to know how to make an egg behave in six basic ways. " (soft, hard, poached, fried, scrambled and deviled)  Betty Crocker's Cookbook 1973

We kept meaning to take the camera out to get more pictures but kept forgetting the camera. So I forced myself to go out to Piper's Lagoon, take a walk along the ocean and take a few pictures. It was so hard, but anything for my friends and family. (Tee Hee) Enjoy the pictures.

This week the weather is suppose to be sunny and cold. Of course cold here is still just around 32 F so it is really not that bad.

Take care and keep warm. It sounds like it has been pretty cold back in Minnesota.
What happened to those Packers?  I thought for sure since they were playing at home they would win.

Pictures were all taken from Piper's Lagoon which is probably about 4 miles from our house.
The first one is just a cool log on the beach.
Next two are looking out over the ocean towards the mainland.
