Sand Castles- Part Deux
17/08/08 06:42
We are busy watching the Olympics. Counting the French channel we usually have a choice of 4-5 different events. It has been nice to have such a variety. Canada finally won some medals this weekend. Everyone here was getting pretty frustrated as even Togo had won a medal.
When I filed my taxes this year, I received a letter back saying that the birth-date on my tax form did not match what they had on file. I had to provide them with a copy of my birth certificate. I heard back from them this week and I now have to work with the social insurance agency as they were the ones with the incorrect date. They will be pulling my file and checking what I had written down. Hopefully it was just a key punch error so they can fix it right away.
The folks from WBOB will appreciate this story. Yesterday Doug received a call from his coworker saying it was raining. As it was a beautiful sunny day at our house Doug hesitated a bit before saying 'WHAT?" Keith then went on to say, well it is raining indoors. So Doug ran down to work to get the scoop and found out that the refrigeration unit for Save on Foods had a blocked drain. Water was gushing through the ceiling, but fortunately in an area they NCO was not currently using. Keith and Doug had to move some monitors and miscellaneous office equipment but all in all nothing too much.
And finally, more about our trip to the Parksville to see the sand castles. Doug tried to write it with the song the 'LAST TRAIN TO CLARKSVILLE" tune in mind, but he did it in a short period of time so hopefully you will get the idea.
A short drive to Parksville
To see all the sand castles
A sunny day, a pleasant walk
the only prob, to find a place to park
no no no no
Marsh walked while we waited at the gate.
While we were in Parksville
We looked at the sand castles
An octopus, a spooky room
Astronauts watching aliens
oh oh, oh oh oh oh
We voted for our favorite castle there
A short drive from Parksville
Marsh missed the Lantzville exit
we hit the pub to have a beer
We watched the boats sail upon the sound
go go, go go go go
A great time was had by all of us that day
