Happy St. Patrics Day
17/03/08 05:53
So is everyone wearing green to celebrate the Irish in them? My class finished on Friday so I am actually home all day. I have a long list of things to do, but it has been nice to actually get a day off from work and class. Tomorrow I have a First Aid class all day and then back to NCO on Wednesday-Friday. So I won't have another day off until next Monday.
Doug has been busy working outside trimming and taking down some of our overgrown bushes. So trim, cut, load car, off to recycle center, unload and back for more. He was pretty stiff by the end of the day. I put in a few extra hours at NCO on Saturday so he was on his own until the last load. I went with and helped him unload. This coming weekend we will continue outside as long as the weather cooperates and does not rain.
Aunt Barbara's kitties are still getting into trouble. So far they have brought and released a rat, followed by Barbara finding 4 mostly eaten mice carcasses and of course the additional 4 whole mice they brought in and proudly presented to her as a present. Well last week, Barbara woke up to hear the two kitties running around the house and she rolled over saying they better settle down so I can get back to sleep. Well guess what she found the next morning. They had brought in a bird and had been chasing it around the house before killing it and leaving feathers all over. Right now I am very glad that Geiger is an indoor cat.
We will be going over to Barbara's for Easter Sunday. Not sure who else will be there, so it may just be Mike, Doug and myself. I am debating whether to bring over some rice kripsie bunnies or caramel corn. I no longer have the big rabbit mold, having left that with Marlys and Muggs back in Minnesota. On Friday I took some small rice krispie bunnies to class for classmates and office staff. So I feel that I have sort of kept the Aalseth rice kripsie easter treats tradition going.
On Friday the class went out to lunch to celebrate the end of the class. We went to a place called Mrs Ritchies. It has been in Nanaimo for many years and is well known amongst it's residences. One of the items it it well known for is the Mountain Burger. One pound of burger with all of the fixings on a huge bun with fries and a free picture. Yes, anyone who orders one gets their picture taken with the burger. I did not try the mountain burger when I was there, but did have the teriyaki burger which was very good. So if anyone is planning to come and visit we can add Mrs. Ritchies as a place to stop for a burger and fries.
Here are the answers to last week's quiz. I meant to get them out earlier, but the time just got away from me. These were clues to various town in British Columbia.

3. 2000 pound monarch - Princeton
4. Pursue - Chase

Yes these are all from Africa - December 2002.
