What A Glorious Sunny Day

Yes, today was absolutely beautiful.  I spent a large amount of the day outside weeding in the back garden and laying rocks in front.  I also did a little mowing and then came in a took a nap.   Doug made chili which I am enjoying as I write so really not much to complain about today.  Saturday  we picked up Barbara and did another circuit of visiting the farmer's market where we bought some plants (peony, tomato and zucchini) and then on to a few garage sales.  We did not pick up much at the sales, but it was fun none the less.  I also had gotten up early and went down to the beach for rock picking. The pictures attached are from that trip. It was so beautiful listening to the waves and gulls. There was even an eagle that flew down for a visit. He had to be the biggest eagle I've seen, nearly three feet tall.

This week we are planning to go to Vancouver and start our visa process. We need a visa to visit China and were told to not start the process too much in advance as it was possible they (China) would not honor a visa that was too old.  So that will be our big adventure this week.

Friday I worked at SuperStore and one of the duties we do at the customer service desk is sell cigarettes.  A young man came up to the counter and asked for a couple of packs of cigarettes. As he looked fairly young, I asked for his ID.  I took one look at his picture and started to laugh.  Inappropriate I realize, but the picture showed a man with long wild black hair with a full long beard.  I started to say something to the customer, when he jumped in and said, "Well most people at least wait until I leave to laugh".  He said it with s smile which got both of us laughing.   I said he cleaned up very well, got his order and chatted more about his picture.  He had let his hair and beard grow long as he was up north for the winter.  He thought at  first he looked very outdoorsy until a friend started calling him Charles Manson as that is what he looked like. At that point he knew he needed to shave and get the hair cut once he came back south.

SO everyone take care and enjoy life.

Have not done this for a while, but just a reminder that if you would like to be removed from this mailing list, please let me know.  Promise neither Doug or I will be offended as we realize folks already get a lot of email they do not have time to read.  Also if you would like to remain on the list, but have a new email address, please let us know.
