Not much new from the Island for this week. I did find out that Sheila's memorial is scheduled for the end of March so I have been making arrangements to fly back for it.  My brother Curt found a very inexpensive roundtrip flight from Seattle to Minnesota so most of my time was spent on determining the best way to get to Seattle. Drive, fly or ferry. I finally decided to take a ferry to Vancouver, drive to Seattle and leave the car there while I am in Minnesota.  I'll spend one night in Seattle prior to departure just to make sure I get there in time as the flight leaves at 7:30 am.  I have told one of my jobs about the upcoming trip but I still need to tell H&R Block about it too. I start there on Wednesday so I'll do it then.

On Saturday Doug and I went to Barbara's for pizza and a movie. We stopped by Pizza Hut for the pizza and then watched part of the Planet Earth series.  We missed most of it  when it was first aired. The photography is just wonderful. If any of you have not yet seen it, you should take the time to do so.  Today I am watching some of the Super Bowl. My sister Mary is from Pennsylvania so I have to cheer for Pittsburgh. Go STEELERS!!

I had a light schedule at work so I managed to make it down to the beach a few times.  On Friday I found a camera that someone had dropped on the beach. I could not leave it there as the tide was coming in and the only other folks on the beach said it was not theirs.  So tomorrow I am going to go to the Lantzville Post Office along with a print of a couple of the pictures to see if we can find the owner. If not, I guess we will have another camera.

Today Doug has been working at prepping our entryway for new tiles.  He has been driving the cats crazy with all of the noise. They have been running around with their tails in the air and the hair standing on edge.  Right now he has stopped and they are so happy they have  curled up next to me and are napping.
